Normally, it takes pretty strong receiving numbers to win the Biletnikoff Award as college football's best receiver (not best wide receiver). So a receiver on a team with excellent passers- quarterbacking and offensive schemes will have an advantage.

With the SEC's becoming an offensive juggernaut and the conference's number of excellent passers (Mettenberger, Murray, Manziel, and McCarron), look for SEC receivers to be more competitive for the Biletnikoff Award. If you look at the excellent post by Sports Contrarian on the quarterbacks who led the teams the various Biletnikoff Award winners played on, you will see that they were excellent, high volume passers. Of course, the Pac 12 has Mariota and Manion.
