BA winner by conference affiliation---

Big 10: 4 winners (Engram, Glenn, Rogers, and Edwards)
Big 12: 4 winners (Crabtree and Blackmon, twice each)
Pac 12: 3 winners (Walters, Hass, and Lee)
Big East: 2 winners (Bryant and Fitzgerald, both from Pitt)
ACC: 1 winner (Johnson)
SEC: 1 winner (Reed)
Southern Conference: 1 winner (Moss)
WAC: 1 winner (Harris)
Independents: 2 winners (Golden Tate of Notre Dame and Troy Edwards of Louisiana Tech)

Normally, it takes pretty strong receiving numbers to win the Biletnikoff Award as college football's best receiver (not best wide receiver). So a receiver on a team with excellent passers- quarterbacking and offensive schemes will have an advantage.

Welcome, butor11. Indeed, Pitt has produced two Biletnikoff Award winners. I believe Walt Harris was the head coach--excellent offensive mind.  Larry Fitzgerald had just lost his mom to cancer and was a fine gentleman at the banquet.

With the SEC's becoming an offensive juggernaut and the conference's number of excellent passers (Mettenberger, Murray, Manziel, and McCarron), look for SEC receivers to be more competitive  for the Biletnikoff Award. If you look at the excellent post by Sports Contrarian on the quarterbacks who led the teams the various Biletnikoff Award winners played on, you will see that they were excellent, high volume passers. Of course, the Pac 12 has Mariota and Manion.
