After 46 years in the field of Engineering David retired as the Senior VP at Greenman Pederson, Inc. He was previously the Regional Transportation Engineer for Wilson Miller, Inc. Over the years his expertise was recognized in planning, design, environmental permitting and management of over 60 construction projects for FDOT, DOC and FSU. David is currently serving on Florida’s Dispute Review Board (DBR) in the Pensacola Region, representing FDOT.
David graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1969 with a degree in Civil Engineering and achieved his P.E. licensure four years later. The year 1969 took on new meaning when after 3 weeks of dating and a four-month engagement he and his bride, Susan headed west with FHWA for an amazing 30-month training program. Their seven assignments took them to mountains, deserts, oceans and everywhere in between. After the training program they had to permanent assignments before the stars aligned for an assignment in Tallahassee. It was an instant love for our beautiful city and a choice that it would become the family’s forever home. Fifty years later David and his family are forever grateful for that decision.
David jumped right into FSU Booster life. Garnet & Gold reigned supreme in his closet and household. He has been involved in numerous community groups, including the Chamber of Commerce and Leadership 21. He was an active member of Faith Presbyterian Church for forty years where he held leadership roles, including Elder. He has been an involved member of St. Peter’s Anglican Cathedral for the last ten years. David’s heart has always been in activities involving his three children and seven grandchildren, who all reside in Tallahassee.
