Tallahassee, FL – Players are added to the Biletnikoff Award Watch List during the season by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation or the Biletnikoff Award National Selection Committee as those players’ performances dictate. The Foundation conferred this morning to further consider any additions to the Biletnikoff Award Preseason Watch List and decided that one player, USC’s Marqise Lee, merited being added to the watch list. Later additions to the watch list are made without prejudice regarding the voting by the Biletnikoff Award National Selection Committee, comprised of over 180 prominent college football journalists, commentators, and former receivers.
Foundation Selection Chairman Ritchie Pickron noted, “The Foundation includes an exclusive group of receivers on the Biletnikoff Award Preseason Watch List. It is apparent, upon further consideration, that Marqise Lee should be on the watch list. Accordingly, he has been added today.”
Please refer to the Biletnikoff Award website for updates and information, as well as for player criteria and voting procedures: http://www.biletnikoffaward.com/criteria. Note that Foundation trustees cannot serve on the national selection committee.
