Rocky Bevis is President of Bevis Funeral Homes in Tallahassee and Bristol, Bevis Funeral Home/Harvey-Young Chapel in Crawfordville, AmeriCare Funerals and Cremations in Quincy, North Florida Crematory, and Capital Monument.
His hobbies and interests include Presidential history, and more particularly Presidential funerals and burial sites. He has visited every burial site and library. He is a member of the Monticello Foundation, the Theodore Roosevelt Association, and has been appointed by the National Archives and Records Administration as a researcher at the Herbert Hoover Library in West Branch, Iowa.
Memberships and local activities include Faith Presbyterian Church, where he serves as an Elder; Tallahassee Lions Club; Downtown Rotary Club; Past Chairman, Leon High School Foundation; Founding member and past Chairman of the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, which presents the Biletnikoff Award to the nation’s top collegiate receiver; Past President of the Tallahassee Quarterback Club; Member and past Chairman of the Board of Directors of Big Bend Hospice; Trustee, Big Bend Hospice Foundation; Member of the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital Foundation Board of Trustees; Member of the Tallahassee Senior Center Foundation Board of Directors; Member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans; Honorary member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy and recipient of the “Stonewall Jackson Memorial Award” for service to the UDC.
He is married to Patti Brewster Bevis and they have two children, Brewster Bevis, and his wife Amanda and Sarah Bevis Taylor, and her husband Tholley and two grandsons, Leo Burbridge Taylor and Waylon Russell Taylor.
The Biletnikoff Award is a member of the National College Football Awards Association (NCFAA). The NCFAA was founded in 1997 as a coalition of the major collegiate football awards to protect, preserve and enhance the integrity, influence and prestige of the game’s predominant awards.
