Laura Rogers thrives on traveling and meeting new people which came from her family’s many locations where she grew up. She arrived at FSU from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, graduated early with a degree in Marketing and married a Tallahassee native Sam Rogers, Jr. After 40 years of marriage, they have raised 3 sons and luckily now have grandchildren to spoil. A career in sales and her volunteer path in education interests merged her passion of serving children and supporting literacy initiatives. She honed her volunteer skills as a Junior Leaguer since 1983, where she has served in fundraising and leadership positions that opened opportunities to understand the community, develop organizational skills and provide a network of influencers. Laura’s favorite program at her work at the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce is “The Best & Brightest Awards” because it blends both her love of recognizing great students and supporting them financially for their future goals. In addition, she served on or still leads the Florida Museum of History Board, The FSU Music Associates, The FSU Theatre Patrons, Trinity United Methodist Trustees, Leadership Tallahassee and the TPD Citizens Advisory Committee.
