Walter E. Colón II DMD, MS

Walter Colón is a husband to Marybeth and father to Maximo. A periodontist at Periodontal Associates of North Florida focused on Periodontal Care and Dental Implants. He received his DMD and MS degrees from the University of Kentucky and has completed residencies at both University of Kentucky and Vanderbilt University. He is a Diplomate in Periodontology and Dental Implant Surgery of the American Board of Periodontology. Walt is a trustee of the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP). He is the recipient of a Special Citation by the AAP. Walt is a Fellow of the International Team of Implantology. Active board member of the Southern Academy of Periodontology, past president of the Florida Association of Periodontology. Former President of the Northwest District Dental Association and Leon County Dental association. He is Vice president of the Capital Medical Society Foundation and has chaired the We Care Dental Committee for the last 15 years. He served on the Tallahassee Community College foundation board and presently chairs the Dental Hygiene/Assistants advisory board. Walt is a Rotarian and recognitions include the Service Above Self and the Frederic Clifton Moore lifetime achievement recognition. At Periodontal Associates Walt has conducted the Dentistry from Heart charity event for 8 years. He has led 4 different Educational Dentistry Study Clubs for 17 years.
