Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, Inc., unveils new Biletnikoff Award website

Media Release – June 8, 2012

Tallahassee, FL -The Tallahassee Quarterback Club (TQC) Foundation, Inc., the Florida based creator and sponsor of the Biletnikoff Award, on Friday unveiled a dramatically new look for its website (www.biletnikoffaward.com), designed to help the public and media easily find information about the award and its student scholarships, which have been given to over 120 students since 1994.

The Biletnikoff Award was created in 1994 to recognize college football’s outstanding receiver, as chosen by a prominent national selection committee of over 150 journalists, commentators, and former players.

“Our mission over the past 18 years not only has been to award the nation’s top receiver the Biletnikoff Award trophy, but also to provide generous college scholarships to local Panhandle counties’ high school students who have overcome significant emotional, mental, physical, and environmental barriers to achieve at the highest academic and extra-curricular levels,” Foundation Chairman Walter Manley, II, related.  “Our new look will highlight the profoundly successful history of the Foundation, the Biletnikoff Award winners, and our dynamic scholarship recipients.”

The TQC Foundation plans to donate over $200,000 in scholarships in 2012.

The 2012 Biletnikoff Award winner will be feted at the TQC Foundation’s Annual Banquet on Saturday, February 9, 2013, at the University Center Club, located in the south end of Florida State University’s Doak Campbell Stadium.

NFL Hall of Fame player Larry Csonka will be the banquet keynote speaker. Csonka and Fred Biletnikoff will present the Biletnikoff Award trophy to the 2012 winner before 550 patrons. The trophy is the most beautiful in college football and has won numerous awards for design excellence.
